An examination of Canadian foreign and defence policy, with attention to contemporary events and issues. The course is designed to examine both foreign and defence policies as interdependent issues for Canadian interests. The course will assess the evolution and changing priorities of Canadian foreign and defence issues, with particular attention to Canada's relations with the United States, Europe, Asia and the Third World. Students may not hold credit for POLS 3520 and any of: POLS 3563 or the former POLS 3561.
