This course introduces students to the concept and practice of public history through an examination of the field’s history, theory, methodologies, debates, diverse manifestations, and challenges. Students will explore public history via readings, films, site visits, hands-on activities, and conversations with public history practitioners and others working in the field. Students will gain practical experience through the development, execution, and presentation of a “public history product”.
