This course provides students in the biological and health sciences with an introduction to data analysis and statistical inference. Topics include: descriptive statistics; probability concepts; Bayes' Theorem; screening tests; discrete probability distributions; uniform and normal distributions; sampling distributions; and statistical inference for one population. Applications are drawn from biology, chemistry and other sciences. Restrictions: Students may not hold credit for this course and STAT-1301 | STAT-1401. Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S or Applied Mathematics 40S (prerequisite).
