With an overall scientific perspective this course concerns itself with information gathered from Philosophy, History, Neuroscience, Biology and Physics pertinent to our fundamental notions of time. Topics such as the historical and philosophical notions of time and time keeping, the biological clocks of living organisms, the perception of time in everyday life, the thermodynamic arrow of time, the physical dilation of time, the possibility of time travel, the description of time from a higher-dimensional point of view, and other relevant aspects of time are discussed. Although the subjects covered are conceptually sophisticated, the presentation requires minimal mathematical knowledge.
