What if I can't find a course I want?

Unfortunately, if you are unable to find a course you want, it means that the specific course you have in mind is not currently offered online by any of our partner institutions. However, there may be another course available that would suit your purposes. Expanding your search may also show you more options. It’s also possible that although the course is not currently listed on our website, it may be offered in a subsequent term. If you ask us in the chat, we may be able to help you find a comparable course or identify the future availability of the course.

More broadly, other “virtual” institutions may offer the course you have in mind. One association that connects online courses across Canada is called the Canadian Virtual University (CVU)—of which the U of M is a member—and that service compiles over 2,000 courses in its catalogue. A major provider of online education in Canada is Athabasca University, another member of CVU. They exclusively offer courses by distance.
